Linguistic results

We can say that children return home bilingual. Results are excellent. Children speak their new language like native speakers of their own age. They do not pick up bad intonation or pronunciation.

Cultural results

Uncommonly good. Young children adapt and integrate more easily than adolescents. They soak up and accept their second culture without the slightest difficulty. Many children ask, as soon as they return home, to go to another country!

Results concerning the Human side of the exchange

Simply fabulous! Two children of the same age from two different countries with two different ways of life will have spent one tenth of their life together. A friendship for life. How lucky at the age of 10 to have a second family in another country!

Do not forget that both families are very much involved in the exchange. They visit each other, holiday together, get to know the other country. Foreign becomes familiar.

Let’s not forget either the two schools that have taught the two children and which may, if they so wish, create a link for future little exchanges.
